Each weekly unit contains one poster for the featured character trait, as well as two printables that require students to make real life connections as well as with literature.
– Making connections to their own lives, the people in their lives and to literature –
Love notebooking? This would be a perfect notebooking project too!
Sight words, often also called high frequency sight words, are commonly used words that young children are encouraged to memorize as a whole by sight, so that they can automatically recognize these words in print without having to use any strategies to decode.
Sight words account for a large percentage (up to 75%) of the words used in beginning children’s print materials. The advantage for children being able to recognize sight words automatically is that a beginning reader will be able to identify the majority of words in a beginning text before they even attempt to read it; therefore, allowing the child to concentrate on meaning and comprehension as they read without having to stop and decode every single word.
If you are looking for FUN & ENGAGING worksheets to help introduce and/or reinforce the 1st 100 Fry sight words, look no further!
In these units, Students will have sections to trace the words, color the words, write the words, find and color the words and build each word (cutting & pasting)!
Great to use during introduction to each new word, in class or at home review, extra support, in a literacy center and as school break review. Perfect for all Kindergarten classes (or) use with early 1st grade or remedial 1st grade readers.
